Luzern salaries...what can I expect?

Hi all,

New to the forum so apologies if I can find the answers to my questions elsewhere..I am a 22 year old Australian looking to move to Luzern to work for a leading sports marketing firm that has shown interest in employing me. I realise it is rare for someone of my age to be eligible for such a job, but the employer is confident they will have little trouble with a visa as I am rather uniquely experienced in the industry for my age.

I have been told by the prospective employer to expect a formal job offer/specification in the next few weeks and am keen to get an idea of what kind of salary range I should expect and more importantly, what kind of salary I will NEED to earn.

I will be moving over with my girlfriend who may not be able to work at first (currently assessing ways around this dilemma out). What kind of salary would I need to live a comfortable existance for two people; nice (but not overly luxurious) apartment, the odd meal out and ideally enough to put a bit of money aside each month for regular weekend trips to other parts of Europe. It is very important to us that we are able to regularly see different parts of the continent if we move over...If we are scraping the barrel each week just to get by the idea of transfering becomes far less appealing regardless of the professional benefits it would bring..

Thanks

Oh sorry, if it helps....

I have completed a relevant undergraduate degree and have four years regular part-time work experience (could almost say full time for the last 18 months) in the sports media industry in both editorial and PR roles.

Regardless of part-time jobs, at 22 and fresh out of uni, I guess you can expect 3500-5000 CHF/mt. But that is only a guess. Especially since we don't know what the job will be! I guess some sort of junior-type trainee position? To know if you get enough for you and another to live on you would have to be much more descriptive of your lifestyle, which you probably wont really even know until you get here. Try doing a few serches on Salary on the forums and you can get a very good idea how much you will need to live (3500k for 2 people is not enough).

Uhm, you're not going to very good responses to any wage question here. I reckon you can get a nice enough flat close to, if not in, the city for 2 people for 1500CHF.
