I currently work full-time for an IT company but am interested in doing some volunteering in Zurich. Does anyone know any organizations which need volunteers or any sites which could be of assistance?

Not sure what your level of german is but here are some websites in german:

Or you could look for "freiwillig" on Google (for people on the german side)

You could look for "bénévole" or "bénévolat" (for people on the french side)

Does anyone know of any good volunteer opportunities in Zürich or organizations/websites that provide info. re: volunteer opportunities in Zürich city?

I used to do some volunteering back home with the elderly and homeless and would like to do something here. I'm pretty open to different things and curious if anyone has had an especially rewarding experience giving some of their time to those less fortunate here in Zürich.
