I found a job!

and it was thanks to the wonderful guys at:-
http://www.futurewatch.ch/
Hi there, just a couple of quick questions... I have been looking for a job in banking/hedge fund sort of thing for the last three months and besides a couple of phone interviews i got nothing. How long did it take for the guys at futurewatch to get you something?

Also, i am in Australia at the moment and i think that looking for a job in Switzerland by email or phone is a bit difficult. What do you all think? Would it be easier if i am there?I'm thinking about leaving my job here and move back to Italy(home) and then start looking for a new job in Switzerland.
Please help!! i've started to panic here

I tried the same, but all replies went: Contact us again once you are in Switzerland! So I am going there for 2 weeks in Apr.
Good luck, and dont panic!

Do you think that two weeks are going to be enough? How are you going to approach the job search if i may ask?

Good luck to you too

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

I thought I would send out my CV to as many Employment Agents about a month in advance & try to set up as many appointments with them as I can. Also big English-speaking companies. I dont REALLY expect to find a job in such a short time, but I will be able to suss out the job market, as well as residential areas & schools. Then I can come back & decide whether it would be worth taking the risk of selling up everything and going.

For what I know they pay you the air ticket when invited for a face to face interview... so you should be able to find a job without moving, theoretically. also being on the other side of the world is not a good psycological incentive...

Have you tried appling directly to swiss companies? If you have some years of experience and meet all their requisite (what about languages?) it may be easier to get to the next stage.. I don't know but I don't really have a good experience with recruitment agencies. If you are at a senior level you can also try with an head hunter, though...

In bocca al lupo!

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Hello,

Thanks to all for posting all those web-sites for jobs. Would anybody know of an agency that dealt with educational jobs?

Any help in this would be great.

Cheers
Taru

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Wouldn't advise Michael Page or Page Personnel - they NEVER respond when you apply for a job. At least it would be nice to hear 'sorry, your profile doesn't match'. Same applies to several other job agency websites.

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Anyone know of any chemical jobs websites?

I'm a research chemist looking to live and work in Switzerland asap.
My main area of expertience is with Dyestuffs and Pigments (textiles, paper, inks etc.) but also analysis, other industrial chemicals (polymers, cosmetics, household/toiletries).
I don't however have any pharmaceutical experience (except in chemical analysis).
I used to work for Clariant (formerly Sandoz) 17 years! This involved my living and working in Basel for 6 months and then returning to Switzerland several times (1 day - 2 weeks).

Any help or contacts (except Clariant) would be very gratefully received.

You are welcome.

I've been here just over 10 years. Originally from Halifax, but moved around a bit after that. If I get a little homesick for places there I miss, I nip over to the Yorksview.co.uk site.

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Thankyou for this useful post...

I'm a young graduate, I'm looking for a job as a telecommunications engineer: consultancy, security management, research and development, networks and systems design, IT section. (any kind of company, telecommunication related and not).

I'm fluent in English and Italian. (cannot speak french or german but always ready to learn)

Do you have any suggestion?
