Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Hi Done,

Maybe you can try Sapient... They are looking for IT consultants... not sure if that's what you are looking for but you can give it a try.

You can find the job describtion here:
http://www.expatica.com/ch/life_in/f...itzerland.html

Good luck!

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Thank you Sascha12 for your suggestion!
I have already tried Sapient unsuccesfully...

Does anyone of you know other Companies located in switzerland that require only English?

Thankyou again for your time and availability.

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Hello everyone! I am hoping that I could get help through this forum for a possible employment. I got here two (2) weeks ago. I'm an EX-Flight Attendant (Cabin Services Director aka Purser) for almost ten (10) years and gave up my flying career to join my husband (all for the glory of LOVE, lol) here in Geneva Switzerland. I'm really keen on getting myself hired. I'm so used being on the "GO"--it's probably just on my system
I am considering a ground job that best suits my qualifications... that way I can lead a normal life and see what Geneva can offer me ahead.
Kisses to you all!

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Hi caninecounselor,

You may want to look on the site www.telejob.ch. These are academic and research oriented jobs, mostly at Swiss Universities. There are many that dont require that you speak German or French. You can also post your CV (for free) on this site, indicating what types of jobs you are looking for. Hope this helps a little! Good luck!

Can anyone please direct me to information on working in human life/social sciences sector? I have trawled the internet and combed so many of the helpful links posted above, without any success. I am interested in working in mental health, psychology, psychotherapy, psychological research and development, statistics and analysis projects related to psychology or social sciences etc (basically will consider all positions in this field). I do not speak Swiss German, (yet) so this could be a factor. Hoping for any assistance. Thanks in advance....

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Thanks for this very useful thread!

Does anybody know which of the above, or other sites, would be particularly useful for getting a junior job (or traineeship, or internship) in IT/programming? It doesn't have to be English-language-only, I can handle myself in German and French, more or less. I'm mainly targetting Zurich and the area, though I could get tempted by Tessin.

Thanks a lot!

Edit to add info on location.

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Listen,
Programming is a labor intensive task, and as such the great majority of big players are moving all their programming requirements to places where labor is cheaper then Western Europe, like India or China even.
Look for an IT career in something else...
Mark

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

Just another site to think about, not just Swiss. It is actually broad, including management, teaching, academia, technology, etc.

I mean IT *or* programming. I'm quite flexible really. But thanks for the pointer.

A lot of sites were mentioned. A lot of them were not even related to Switzerland..

I can definitely recommend www.SwissJobs.com ... it is focused solely on Switzerland and its very clean user friendly

Oh really, I have looked to many jobsites for jobs in Switzerland, but this is one is by far the best because it is really user friendly!

By the way, does anybody use Experteer.com ? I am thinking of paying those 30 euro for a month of full access, because I found couple of jobs which looks very interesting and I cannot access them because I need a subscription. Do you think this is worth paying?

I did before and it is a waste of time and money. They do not have jobs that aren't advertised elsewhere - and definitely just a fraction of the activity of monster when it comes to the headhunters.

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

I had the best results with jobserve.com so far.

I haven't got a job yet, only some ongoing applications, but anyway, most recruiters responded from jobserve, and sometimes they even find and contact me by my profile.

I'm on lots of job seeking pages (10-ish), but apart from jobserve, I only got contacted from LinkedIn so far.

Stamford
A lot of UK websites have international options in their search features. Quite a few others too I found good: jobisjob.co.uk, reed.co.uk, earn.co.uk, monster.co.uk Again, just put in Switzerland as a location preference.

Re: Websites for English Jobs in Switzerland

My experience with Future Watch has been not so good. I sent them my application via email and I got an automated reply that I would be called back in 2 to 5 days.

After 10 days of silence I called and a secretary told me that the person was occupied and I would be called back. I told her my name, phone number and when I sent the application.

Heard nothing since then.

I would expect this kind of behavior in Italy, but not in Switzerland.
