Gas Technician equivalence?

Hello there, I'm currently attending a course that would allow me to work as gas technician in Portugal.

This course is certified by a responsable and international entity, ISQ (Institute of Welding and Quality), who are among other things doing quality control for the particles accelerator in EPFL. This only to point that it is a serious formation im taking and not just some DIY workshop.

I'll translate my certificate by an official translator and will have it ready when i move there.

Also, in Portugal you need to sign into a national authority in order to be able to legally be in this line of work, the "bureau for energy".

Can anyone tell me what are the requirements to perform the same functions in Switzerland and more specifically in Vaud canton?

Is this something i'll be able to find work here or is there no company working with gas based in Vaud region?

Thanks in advance

Re: Gas Technician equivalence?

Sorry to bump.

I have meanwhile found out that in Switzerland this sort of certificates are called CFCs and there is a natural gas pipeline from France that connects to both Italy and Germany.

Couldn't find anything related with the equivalence so far though.

Re: Gas Technician equivalence?

I was about to post this last week just before we were so rudely interrupted

In the UK there is a service to transfer overseas qualifications to UK equivalents:

http://www.naric.org.uk/

They may be able to advise of a similar service for you.

Re: Gas Technician equivalence?

I've recently discovered what seems to be the Swiss regulating entity for gas and water, SVGW and SSIGE.

This is already late for me but may be useful if someone else with same question happens to troll the EF like me

Thank you for the reply, Deep Purple and sorry for my late reply on this.
