Any experience on PI Surveys?

Hi! I've been asked by the company I'm applying to to complete an online Predictive Index Survey and I'm just wondering if anyone here who has given or taken this survey (test?) before can share any tips/suggestions for answering it.

Since its 80+ adjectives ranging from positive (ex. Outstanding, Well-liked, Dynamic), to negative (ex. Passive, Escapist, Fussy) with alot of them also being similar in meaning (ex. Congenial & Amiable, Persuasive & Convincing, etc.)...will it be better to check ALL the words "you feel describe...the way you're expected to act/ the way you really act" OR will it be better to check those traits (words) which are most critical and relevant for the role you're applying for?

Thank you.

Re: Any experience on PI Surveys?

The problem is that there is not a "generally right" answer: The company you apply for made a profile and will check your answers against this profile, so we cannot really help you on this.

Read the ad you are applying for again very carefully. Does it say something about "working independent" or "teamplayer", does it puts an emphasis on soft skills or on hard skillsets for a specific job?

You can only find some hints there... and reduce the necessary luck a bit. Wish you all the luck you still need...

Re: Any experience on PI Surveys?

The only tip i can give you is to answer it truthfully. These tests have a parameter called consistency... It is a lot of questions you will have to answer, and they are designed to detect patters of answers. It is going to be extremely difficult to keep it consistent and you will come across as trying to work around the test. Of course, don't say shy if you applying for PR, but....

Thanks Markalex for posting the link! Looked through that site before and it explains the benefits of the survey for companies and employees, how there's no right or wrong, etc.

Thanks for the reco Treverus! From this, I guess it will be better to stick to just the few most relevant ones for the role and not do exactly as the directions state of checking all "the words that describe the way you are expected to act/ the way you really act". Also appreciate the "luck"...really want to start working again.
