Hi!

I was wondering if anyone had any contacts with biotech or pharmaceutical companies they would be willing to share with me.
I am looking for a hands on laboratory research/scientist position. I have already applied online to many of the obvious companies such as Novartis, Merck, Roche, etc., but I was wondering if anyone had any other close connections that they might be able to help me further my job search as I know that companies go through 1,000s of CVs for each position and may not even get to yours before filling the job.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biophysics and a Masters degee in Biomedical Engineering with a total of 9 internships and graduate research assitantships in various science fields including immunology, biology, and biomedical engineering. I also have 1 1/2 years of cell culture experience and other various skills (more info can be given if requested).

I am currently living in the US but have lived and attended school abroad, as well as did an internship in Africa this past summer. I would love the opportunity to work in the biotech or pharmaceutical field in Switzerland. I enjoy exploring new cultures and countries and recently visited Zurich and fell in love with the city. I'm in the same position as you are.
I have applied online to Novartis and i am waiting for some response, but
i believe we can't really know how the HR in these companies work. Do they
really go through 1,000s of CVs for every position as you mentioned before?
Do they wait for a couple of months before they call for an interview?

I also believe that it's difficult to get a job in these "giants" through contacts
but thats just my opinion...
