Most employers will respect the employment laws, but there are always exceptional circumstances that require extra effort, those that can't be flexible in the current market should keep their CV updated. But please ensure you inform any potential employer of you clock watching preference... I'm sure it will postion you well on the hiring list
You know, I can go to work at 7 or 8 in the morning. But I would like also to leave the office at 4 or at last 5. Not further than that.
I have not a problem with many hours of work. I just dont want to find myself in the office in the afternoon(4 or 5).
I think I read here in the forum that many swiss companies offer flexibility according to the employees preferences(working time etc). So may be there would not be any problem at all, in this case.

What do you think about it?

I think you need a reality check.

Re: Maximum working hours

I think that the whole discussion of what is legal, help us defend our rights.

Of course it depends on where you work, but in my case after 4 would not be a problem and in fact during summer it is very common for people to come in at 6.30 or 7.00 and leave around 4.00.

I find that the Germanic attitude is very much a time served attitude, rather than the more enlighted (IMO) results-oriented approach adopted.

Frankly, if someone gets work done for me in 1 minute instead of 1 day, then I don't care as long as the job gets done.
