| Hi, I am new to the forum.
Just wanted to ask if anyone knows whether there are any employment oportunities for english speaking dental hygienist in Switzerland. I have my diploma from Canada but I'm originally from Europe and still hold my European passport.
I know that I can order a list of employers from SSO but before I do it I wanted to know if I have any chance just with English?
Thank you all for your time and help! | |

Hi veve. My wife moved here from the UK with a British degree in Dentistry some time ago, so we have some experience (that was 15 yrs. ago).
I will tell you the truth as anything less will mislead you and set you up for false expectations:
- If your degree is not from an EU country, it will not be recognized. You will have to requalify here in Switzerland. Your passport(s) are irrelevant in this case.
- You will have to learn to speak High German and understand Swiss German. That is your customer base here (I am assuming you are in the German part, substitute French/Italian as appropriate). If you take intensive German, you may be ready to pass an interview after 12-18 months (requirement 1 above not withstanding).
Sorry, but those are the facts. Life isn't easy, never was.
