As of July 1st, I will have started my new job in a bank as junior project manager in IT and I am 26. We have agreed upon 85.000 CHF + %5-10 bonus as salary. THey will also pay for my german lessons and MBA either in their internal business school or in another one in switzerland.

Anyone works in IT for a bank?? any ideas about how well I did in this salary deal? I know bank salaries are quite high in switzerland and for me this offer was more than enough however i still have doubts..

Yes I think many people would kill for such a deal.

For the post of Junior project manager you have done well in the negotiations . Probably you should take in writing about days off for classes, workshops and exams apart from the cost of tuition fees.

You can also opt for Distance learning as some international schools are ranked higher than normal Swiss ones (apart from IMD).

If you're happy with it, then yes it is enough.
It is as simple as that.

Note the bonus is not guaranteed and counts for nothing in negotiations. Cash in hand is worth 2 in the bush etc

your employer pay for German lessons? You mean you pay then it is claimed back assuming you use a recognised provider...

I was told I could either take courses in their internal business school and earn MBA degree in project management or i could do external courses (in such case, they pay %80 of the tution). I found SBS (swiss business school) on the net. They seem to be pretty much credited and well known for mba courses. IMD is opt for ones with +7 years work experience and +30-35 years of age (numbers from IMD website). Apart from the topic itself, have you heard about SBS? or do you know how well could internal business school be?

Regarding German lesson, they have German lessons in the offices with a local very good company all bought and paid for (Group lessons though obviously)

Regarding the salary, at banks these things are generally tied to your position and level, salary increase are generally low for the whole population (the pot was 5% for everyone this year). Bonuses are good as is pay with promotion and the increases are significant.

It is a great company for fringe benefits and the Business School is very good. Well done for joining the major bank in Switzerland (from an investors point of view).
