I read all these news about suicides of france telecom staff and I wonder if the corporate working conditions in Switzerland are similar to these of the neighboring France.
You know, it is about daily working stress, lot of pressing matters, deadlines etc.
Every business environment has these features but it seems that in some countries there is bigger pressure. Or maybe I am wrong. But in a globalized world, what is this special thing that could make the difference in the lives of people, whether they work in Switzerland or not?
As far as we know, Switzerland is well known for a high level of quality life, but also it has one of the most competitive economies in the whole world.
What a newcomer to Switzerland should expect? Stressful conditions as an employer or a balance in productivity work along with a good personal life, generally speaking?
Would it be possible to have suicides caused by the working environment in Switzerland?
Is it better for an employer to work in Switzerland than the other western countries? Are there better rules for employers from cantons or swiss government? Do an employer have the right to deny overtime work? Better salaries? Job security in case of being dismissed? Is there better respect in the particularities of each worker? Are formally working hours complied?
Give some help to record what is going on in Swiss job market about quality and balance in working & personal life.
I am not talking about suicides in general.
I want to relate suicides as a result of awful working pressure. Could this happen in swiss companies too, what is your opinion?
I've only heard on mobbying being big here and the proper legislature missing, but don't know the real deal. I am sure it is not a general condition either, more a situation of individual cases? There are there threads on it here, just type it up in the search. I know WRS.ch did a special on that, search their web as well, loads of info on life in CH.
