How can I adapt my CV/resume to the 'Swiss style'?

My goal is to get a job as java/python/unix programmer/system engineer at a quant-house/hedge fund or related financial institutions. I would prefer a medium-small sized company and in one of the northern cities (Zurich, Zug, Luzern, Bassel, etc). My working career isn't exactly straight forward though - with some short employments and a few gaps where I have been travelling (after exits from startups or long employment).

• Are Swiss recruiters very critical about short employments and travel gaps? should I maybe remove the timeline so it's not so obvious?
• Should I provide more details or different details on the employments?
• Do most jobs really go through recruiting agencies/middlemen? do someone here have recommendations to specific agencies which have good contacts in the sector i seek?
• Anyone willing to share their CV/resume which were used in Swiss? (successful) :-)
