Okay, considering all of you were so very nice with your kind wishes and words of support when I joined, I figured you deserved an update.

I have begun to utilize my connections within my current employer and must say am pleasantly surprised. I mean when you consider everything you hear when you dare to murmur the idea of relocating to Switzerland about how impossible it is to secure employment, how difficult it all is, it really can be very disheartening. However, one very senior person with which I have been acquainted with for many years has already contacted his counterpart at Swiss Re and asked him to assist in my endeavor. The gentlemen responded almost immediately by forwarding my information to the appropriate parties and even suggested I phone him so that we could meet the next time I am in Zurich. Another colleague is doing the same for me with The Zurich. While I must admit, I am still quite a bit overwhelmed by everything moving to another country entails, never mind the Swiss Rules and Governing regulations, I am beginning to feel that this may not take 10 years to actually happen.

Besides all that, I just want to say thank you for your encouragement and I will keep you posted on my progress.

I'm not really certain where to go from here. Everything was going as planned, in fact better than planned, I was offered a job site unseen, based upon my experience alone. Unfortunately, seems that was not enough - the position, upon posting could easily be filled by a Swiss. The HR Representative was really very apologetic and suggested that I just go ahead and get married as soon as possible, I could hardly believe my ears. Well, I cannot in all good conscience consider that, and would rather do things in a more appropriate manner. However the time and effort are really beginning to weigh heavy and I fear time may be running out. It is all so frustrating, I have so much experience and so very much to offer - I need a little help here...anybody have any suggestions? Is there no hope for an American in love with a Swiss and Switzerland?
