A switch in mindset from "I really need this job" to something more along the lines of:
"I would be excited to work for this company because this is what I have to offer them, and I am positive my skills and talents will contribute greatly to the growth of this company"
reflecting on both your job search, application, interview, and negotiation process will do wonders for your career.
At least....it seems to work for me.

I agree with this also it's a
mutually benefitial situation. They have to read your CV and think yes this person can do the job.
This method worked for me. I've quadrupled my wage in the last 6 months, and I've been offered 6 positions 4 of which I turned down. Don't forget any interview is practice but make sure you prepare well and put full effort into each one, so do you're research. See what the company are doing etc etc.
Which means you both have to gain, don't under sell, yet don't over sell. Not easy, but that's the skill!
As soon as it stops becoming mutually benefitial that's the time to start applying for other jobs.
