Does anybody know (or think they know)a really fantastic restaurant in Switzerland .I dont mean in a Hotel or a really expensive Restaurant but one that you may have stumbled upon or one that is down a back alley out of sight of everyone .Most of the ones i have been too seem to sell all the same food !
Any names would be great ! All i want is something diiferent .

It would help to know where you live and perhaps maybe what kind of food you're looking for. But also, there are several threads that deal with this specific topic. I know that there are many great restaurants in Zurich, but without more information it's probably not going to be worth many experienced members time to answer your question.

At the moment, my favorite restaurant in Zurich is Josef in Kreis 4 (corner of Josefstrasse and Gasometerstrasse).

Reasonably priced, FANTASTIC wine list from all over Europe (some of the best Austrian wines I have seen) and you pay by the number of dishes you order. Kind of like Spanish Tapas, but the food is a bit of everything...meats, salads, fish, pastas,risotto, etc. Medium sized plates to mix and match.

In Neuchatel there's a great Italian restaurant, but you can't see it from the street, there's no sign outside, they don't advertise, but it's packed most nights.
'Famiglia Leccese', address is Rue De l'Ecluse 49, but if you know where the motor bike shop is then it's a 'room' behind the shop. Service is poor, tables aren't crash hot either. After you've eaten there though, you'll be back!

That is a great restaurant, you would never find it if you were not told about it. You won't find tourists in there it's usually just locals.
