hey, i am from india...and am staying in sierre in switzerland from last couple of months.. i miss Indian food. Can anybody tell me about the good indian restaurants in switzerland, so that i can have the pleasure of eating some indian food...???

Aaaand, we also have an Indian food shop near the Hirschengraben. Also 2 or 3 Indian clothings etc shops. One is as I know in the Ryfflygässchen.

I guess you can get almost everything Indian in Bern. Some Indian people also buy food in the Asia Shop in Liebefeld (but not much).

Try Dosai(SouthINidan Rice pan cake ) in this restaurant ....

When I lived in Neuchatel I was friends with an Indian fellow who had his mother's food canned and shipped here- and he liked to share! That was the best.

I do remember though going to one of the more reputable Indian restaurants in the area with him once: He went straight in the kitchen, came out a couple minutes later and said "Let's go.". He wouldn't say why, just that that wasn't a good restaurant to eat in . So if you are Indian, it seems you are authorized to inspect the premises, perhaps have a look around and tell us where to eat .

I know of one Vevey, it's not what I would expect from and "English" indian but edible.

Mr Aggarwal is based in Burgdorf and owns many Indian grocery shops in Switzerland. He also has his own restaurant " Sitar " in Utzenstorf, which is near the "Ikea" exit at Lyssach north of Berne. Buffet is highly recommended, and the toilets are spotless!

I live in Basel and have tried few Indian Restaurants around here like Bombay Palace , Indian Tandoori Palace, Jay's, Mandir etc ..but from my experiences, these are over priced and the taste is also not so authentic.
However, I really liked the one across the border in Lorrach, Germany.
The food is very tasty and reasonably priced.
You can try once you are in this region of switzerland. Below are the details

I agree - in Zurich it's between the old reigning champion "King's Curry", and the new up and coming pretender " Tandoori BBQ".

They both pack a punch, with "Tandoori" being overweight in the price/quality department, but underweight on the catchy name front.
