vegan restaurant in Zurich

Our Friday office chatter has us talking about a new vegan restaurant and bakery which has just opened up around the corner. Boss says she hasn't tried it yet, but heard it was nice. Anyone been yet?

I have been once (when they first opened) and thought it was average although I was a bit disappointed with the size of the sandwich I ordered for the price they were charging! Would be prepared to give it another go now that they've been open a while. Does anyone know if they do good cake?

Re: vegan restaurant in Zurich

i had the cheesecake, which was pretty excellent.... but in general, yeah, it seems like more of a lunch place, which is disappointing.

Maybe a Zürich vegan Picnic/BBQ is in order now there seem to be a lot of vegans popping up on EF...

Re: vegan restaurant in Zurich

I've had what turned out to be the mother of all portions of lasagne there--it took me two days to eat it. I followed it by the mother of all brownies, which like the lasagne was very nice.

I'm told they now do smaller serving sizes upon request.

I've gone often on a Wednesday when they do burgers and roasted potatoes. Really tasty, but good to know about the smaller portions, man it's a lot of food.

I'll make it there one of these Wednesdays for the burgers. Haha, too right about the portions! They told me the cheaper, smaller portions are because so many people "complained" about the large serving sizes.

Re: vegan restaurant in Zurich

It was fun while it lasted: Vegan Kitchen and Bakery is set to close after just nine months if the owner can't come up with Sfr. 300,000.-, which she needs to expand seating in order to make the place profitable (why a tiny detail like return didn't factor into her original business plan is beyond me).

Hope there's some vegan money sloshing around Zurich so this place can stay in business...
