I think the major problem in Canton Uri is that the majority of people are just passing through. Almost everyone who has travelled very far in Switzerland is likely to have been through the Gotthard Pass or Glacier Express route.

Without visitors, there are not likely to be many bars.

Or they need bars first, and then the visitors will stop by

The Uri Info website only lists 13 bars for nightlife in the whole of the canton. That is one of them. It shouldn't take long to check out the remainder in Altdorf, Andermatt and Flüelen.

Depends what sort of bar, there are loads of local type places and I know most in the Canton! Not many late bar places, Urnerhof Moskito being one in Fluelen, London pub in Altdorf another. Careful in Erstfeld you may get asked to buy cheap bubbly for 250CHF by a pretty Eastern European.
