Re: Arabian restaurants in basel

Surely Arabian and Asian are 2 completely different tastes?
Which are you looking for?

if you go to www.eat.ch and type in your post code you can see alot of delivery places there are quite a few asian places, if you want Arabic there are a few just across the border in Lörrach!

Re: Arabian restaurants in basel

There's a couple of Lebanese restaurants I know of - one at Barfusserplatz (Aladdin). The other, Monot, just opened, in Binningen (no 10 tram, Binningen Oberwil stop, just after the zoo).

!
Im from Essex and I like eating Asian food, and I like eating Arabic food. Think the OP just fancies a bit of Arabic, despite his Asian ties. Nuffing wrong with that.

I like Aladdin (Lebanese), mentioned by NotAllThere. However, I make no claims of it being good enough for someone who grew up with a similar style of cuisine! It's good enough for me though.

The point is that Asian food stretches from the Middle East right through to Japan. On that basis, boiled mutton (Mongolia) is asian food.

Those pictures made me hungry.

@OP, at Barfuesserplatz, opposite of the Aladdin restaurant is also the Damas Cafe where you can get middle eastern/maghreb food at reasonable prices.
And nearby is http://www.restaurantkelim.ch/ (it is though Kurdish/Turkish but super tasty).

Do not forget that the "neighbour city" of Basel is Mülhausen/Mulhouse with heaps of Arab restaurants (mainly Maghreb in fact), but there also are Lebanese places in Mulhouse like

for teachers possibly yes but in daily fact, the Arab World ends and Asia begins east of the Shatt-el-Arab ! What he presumably means by "Asian" is the "Mashreek"

True enough but the other point is that Arab food stretches from Muscat to Casablanca
