Party service in Bern???

I'm organizing an apero for ca. 60 persons in Bern and of course I haven't done this before so I'm quite unsure. I've already tried looking at the Migros- and Globus Party service websites, just so I'd get an idea of the prices and how it works. And although their prices seem to be acceptable, I'd like to think that there are less plain options out there..

Can anyone recommend a good (better) party service in the Bern area with reasonable prices too?

Re: Party service in Bern???

depends on what you want to serve for your apero....
If its cheese and cold cuts, chäsbueb is also doing party service...I had a colleague who had his Abschiedsapero prepared by chäsbueb...don't know about the price though....

Then there's La tavola pronta which has a restaurant in laupenstrasse and they also do party service...very italian....can be pricey though....

The Thaikurier also do party service...fingerfoods thai style...yummy....

hope this helps...

Thanks so much.. That's exactly what I have to prepare for (Abschiedsapero). The Italian party service you mentioned sounds yummy, but pricey is not good! hehe

If I may ask, is ca. 60 persons realistic or should I prepare for more, I mean if you'd more or less estimate how many attended at your colleague's?

Re: Party service in Bern???

is 60 the actual no. of people you are expecting? if its an estimate and you already have some margin...then I guess it should be ok...
besides with apero you can always bring several bags of chips to beef it up some more....

for my colleagues' Abschiedsapero, he was expecting around 40-50 people about 80% showed up....

Thanks for the very helpful infos! One could just celebrate this Abschiedsapero once & I would'nt want to blow it! 60 is actually the number of people in the workplace (I am told that they're required to attend) plus the panel members then I just added 10 for friends & family members..

Re: Party service in Bern???

I used to have to organize these once in awhile and found that Migros or independent butchers and cheese shops were best and usually most affordable. Migros can do meat and cheese platters, but also have "pain surprise," which are very handy but also easier to budget because they come in cheaper varieties and more expensive ones, meaning cream cheese and herb is a more affordable option than, say, salmon.

My experience was Globus and anything remotely fancy or unusual was a lot more expensive.

I always worried about not having enough eats and over-booked wildly until I got the hang of the "margin of absence" Aurora mentions. Absolutely right to say it's smart to have some Pretzels or Grissini handy that you can just pop into a bowl or glass to bulk it up if need be.
