Does anyone have any reccommendations for vegan (in my case really just egg and dairy free but it is easier to just say vegan) pastries in the Zurich area anywhare around the lake really.

I think you will have more luck with 'egg and dairy free' at the health food store, than vegan options... try any 'reformhaus'...that's the 'health food shop'. There is a specifically gluten-free shop in Seefeld, and one called 'Egli' at the hauptbahnhof on the lower level below where the lockers are in the central shopping area.

Hi, Carrie, can't help you with a place to buy vegan pastries, but from my own vegan times, it was a lot easier (and less expensive) to bake your own, especially cakes ...my non vegan friends almost always managed to eat it before it had chance to cool off

I'd open my own vegan treats shop but then I'd eat all of my profits!

Tibits usually has 'Apfelkrapfen' for sale at their counters which are vegan.
Samses on Langstrasse usually has at least 1 vegan muffin/cupcake too!

Egli at Stauffacher also does vegan croissants.

You could also try one of the Asian stores for frozen Indian (or similar) samosas, a bit spicy but delicious. All my samosa recipies are vegan.
