This is the day i actually leave Geneva, only attended once and never again, 5 years i go for holidays abroad this weekend

I am a party animal and always in clubs and festivals but this is absolutely not a party...it's a nightmare

well, this is NOT a club or a festival.....or even a party.

it's the Lake Parade......

Not coming for the parade, I but might get there for the Geneva summer festival, terrific firework display with music starts 10 pm on Saturday 13th August 2011 at the lake. Park your car at Nyon and get the train to Geneva.

Must admit, I don't like the Lake Parade either....

I will be working. Same as last year and the year before

ive always been reading stuff off this forum but i never registered or joined in so i decided to join today =)

Ive been living in geneva for nearly 2 decades but i have to admit that i do not always stay for the lake parade in geneve, like the last few years i havent been to the lake the day of the parade. instead i go to other places around geneva which are Always emtpy that day heheh

I got married early this year though and my wife is not swiss and its the first time she comes over so this year im stuck to see the parade for her.

lets hope she doesnt like it so much or ill be seeing it every year from now on

I want to have some fun this year....

I'll be out of Geneva and don't know what time I will come back, so..... but if you see me, say Hi. At least, I'll be at the lake Sensation.

Its fun if you come down to spend some time, but it goes past our front door and with the frequent stops and hold ups, its a bit much for my old ears, so its "Im out" for me.

Why, what's wrong with the parade?

One of the problems is that it doesnt flow continually and gets held up often. Then you don`t get one music techno but two or three competing for attention and it becomes just a blare. People do have a lot of fun and its not to be criticised except to say the organisers need to work on the traffic control.

Sooo, it's sort of like Migros on a Saturday morning...except without the geezers.

Ok so i finish work at 8. Will i be able to see the floats if im at the end at 8:30 you think?

You should be able to catch up on the eaux vives side, then you can stay by this side till nearly 2 am I guess.

Maybe we can organize an EF hangout that day, I will be in Geneva this year for the LP

the lake sensation starts at 8pm. That the time the first trucks will be at the park of Eaux-vives
