I'm well aware that there are lots of Latin dance clubs in Zurich. But I would also like to know if there are any good restaurants and dance clubs that serves and plays music from the islands of Haiti and Cape Verde? Preferably places that would not endanger my husband or I.
It feels good when you know there's a place you can go to that reminds you of home.

There is this Haitian place close to Langstrasse but I have never tried it out. Apparently, they serve food and functions as a club as well. The street is called Militaesrtrasse and if you're heading towards Langstrasse it's on the leftside.

there are zouk nights once a month at www.latinpalace.ch
for food try www.mojito.ch both in zürich
for more traditional foods and music try events the the upcomming integration festival( helvetiaplatz/longstreet by hooters), caliente-festival(june 2012) or afro-pfingsten in winterthur (june 2012).
there are regular events in lausanne and geneva and certainly more restaurants or foodspots.there is this one club in lausanne everyone loves for it's great kiomba and afrolatino dj's :

Will do. I don't move to Zurich until Thursday but I'm gradually building up a list of places and things to do. The Integration Festival looks interesting, as well as the Zouk night. Must remember I have a day job to go to!
