Hello all,

I'm really interested to start DJ'ing in and around the Basel area as I'm there quite often (will probably move out there in a few months).
Already DJ over in the east part of London regularly and have a online radio show.

Would love to network with some promoters, DJ's etc etc or just get some good ol' advice from locals.

I DJ in Luzern, basically just looked up the clubs I liked and where I thought I would fit in, and wrote to them with links to mixes. A friend of a friend worked behind one of the bars and put in a good word for me, now they book me once a month.

DJs from the UK seem to have extra appeal to the Swiss, worth emphasising it, london prob more so.

Do you know of any nice spots around Basel? Only places I'm familiar with or have been suggested are Cargo, O2 Club and Rhypark.

Sorry, never been out in Basel, there must be a fair few posters here that do though.

What styles do you play? Maybe worth starting a thread asking where those are played in Basel to get a good idea of who to write to.

I think that if you head down to the Cargo Bar here in Basel and have a chat to the guys behind the bar they may be able to point you in the right sort of direction.

Cyrus - I play mostly hip-hop, b-more house, juke and dubstep. Good idea on the genre/thread front, will do.

Having lived in Basel you can't do any worse than the crap I came across with a couple of exceptions.

I would most strongly urge you to come along on this event and check it out yourself and have a bit of a blast with the EF crowd.

You could check with Hinterhof, i know they have a dj often and its a good venue. Can't think of anywhere else right now. Not sure if Süd ever has DJ's?
