You lucky thing !!!! What are their typical lunch specials? Prices?

All I have for lunch is the work canteen
I pop in for lunch today and they have 3 different lunch menus: Beef with noodles and soup, vegetarian - tofu and rice and Chicken and rice (Sorry I was too busy enjoying my food to remember what they are called!) and it is around 22CHF mark, so not a bad price. The lunch is generous as well as well presented. I will post some pictures after I unload my phone.

Re: Dapur Indonesia - Restaurant

So I finally got to go there on Friday night with two friends - one of whom is Indonesian - and what an amazing overall dining experience that was!

The food, service, decor, ambience - everything was A+.

It was our first time there and we will all be going back again for sure!

It is currently Number 1 in Trip Advisor's list of recommended Zurich restaurants.

Thoroughly endorse this place. Go check it out!

Re: Dapur Indonesia - Restaurant

This is summarised from another post. I had the 11 course meal. My thoughts were as follows:

- the food. I have to say, I really enjoyed every course - even the vegetarian ones! good variety/selection. nice portion sizes and very tasty! favourites were the chicken satay and beef rendang which were both very good. the chicken dish and fish dish were also good.
- i witnessed just one service drop and the waitress was very apologetic and immediately fixed this. i was very impressed with the service. while not the same kind of as service in a multi-michelin-starred restaurant, given the diner/staff ratio, i don't think you could get better service than this and actually, i prefer this more casual but high quality service to the more formal/stuffy service of other restaurants.
- Nice atmosphere and surroundings was nice. small enough to be cosy without feeling that you're crammed next to another table
- Very well organised. These guys really have got it together. Actually, I saw somewhere that the owner is has a hotel/hospitality background and this really shows through the high quality of service.

In summary: probably the best dining experience I've had in Switzerland to date. 5/5 Phil_MCstaRs

Not my cup of tea. Rather dry and uninspiring.

No McD afterwards, but I confess to making a bowl of noodles a couple of hours before heading to the restaurant

Re: Dapur Indonesia - Restaurant

A bit late with my endorsement, I would like to add my 5 cents here as well.

Indeed a wonderful ambiance, with excellent food and great service. We had the Rendang, Sajoer Lodde, Crevettes (cannot remember the Indonesian name) and Sateh Ajam. Not cheap, but certainly not overpriced either.

Being used to ample supply in Holland, it surprises me that they are the only Indonesian restaurant in Zürich. We will definitely go back there again!

I know this is an Indonesian restaurant, but does the satay come with creamy peanut sauce (Indonesian, I think) or crunchy peanut sauce (singapore/malaysian) ?

Re: Dapur Indonesia - Restaurant

So, as previously stated, I wanted to give this place a try. Ambience was lovely and definitely set for a romantic dinner in the evening. However, if you're used to North American settings, I can imagine that it can feel somewhat crammed. I'm not easy to please...but service was impeccable, nuff said!
The presentation of the food was very pleasant and you can tell, that they put some thought into it and the portions were good too.
The food itself was alright. Definitely not bad but neither on the amazing side of the scale. To be fair, I went with a simple menu as I didn't know what to expect. On my next visit, I will have to try something else. I asked for extra hot sauce and they had a small variety to choose from (I believe they were made from scratch and thus were a refreshing surprise compared to the dull Sambal sauces you get at other Asian spots).
The price is slightly on the steep side and therefore I will give it a 3.5 star on the LIB culinary scale.
