I was wondering if anyone would recommend places in Lausanne where one can eat a (healthy, warm) meal for say less than 20CHF?

The ones that I can think of are:

• migros/coop/manor-restaurants (but they don´t offer warm food late in the afternoon or in the evening and they´re not open on Sundays...);
• Mah-Jong

I used to live in Germany for three and a half years and there´re many more places for a meal for less than 10-15 Euros. In Zürich there´s also the "spaghetti factory". But I find it very hard to eat out in Lausanne at a reasonable price (for me). Though I cook almost every day, there´re still times when I need to eat out. Anyone who can give some suggestions? Thanks!

I am experiencing the same problem! I've lived in Germany for 2 years and I am a food lover, so I feel your pain! I recently discovered Holy Cow, it's a "healthy" burger house, that (supposedly) uses pure swiss meat, home made buns and the best of ingredients. It's not cheap, considering it's just a burger, but it really makes you full and it's under 20 CHF. It's worth a look!

Thanks! I don´t like burgers with beef... Are the chicken burgers there good, too?

I really miss the Gelato-Läden in Germany and so many restaurants, where one can have good warm pasta for less than 15 Euros...

The Dynasty in st. Francois in not bad for the price (service efficient but robot-like, be warned). It's above the Starbucks.

I haven't tried them yet , I' ve only been there once, but I will definitely have a chicken burger next time I'm gonna be there.

I miss all these small "Imbiss- Restaurants" where you can have a wonderful chinese, indian, thai, japanese etc dish for under 10 euros (sigh)!

The chicken burgers are delicious! I think they're better than the beef. I also like the veggie burgers.

I like the ethiopian restaurant abyssinia, near riponne. It's a bit more than 20 CHF, but they have a great mixed platter that is all you can eat. Great deal!
