Hot Chocolate - Basel and Beyond

I have a friend coming to Basel that is a Hot Chocolate connoisseur. Can anyone recommend a cafe, confisserie, etc.. that has good hot chocolate? (starbucks need not apply )

Also, we will have a day trip somewhere to see mountains, eat cheese, etc.. We don't have a specific place in mind but if there is a village cafe famous for hot chocolate that would sway us!!

Thanks!!!

The Sprüngli café at Paradeplatz and Cafe Schober at the Niederdorf come directly to mind for hot chocolate.

Cafe Balzac in Morges is worth a trip to Vaud. AMAZING hot chocolate.

I hope there is somewhere. Whenever I've had hot chocolate in Basel, it's come from a sachet. I've stopped asking.

Oh - that would work into a perfect day trip - the Callier factory then Gruyere then a drive around the lake with a stop for hot chocolate!!!
