Hi anyone know of free live music venues in Lausanne, im missing some decent music, theres only so much techno you can take in bars.....And anyone want to make a gig a social event???!!!

Lausanne Palace & Spa, they have live music in the bar

occasionally you get to meet Rolling Stones in the very same bar (i.e. August this year)

You could try Tacos Bar. I've not been there for a long time but it was very good. Sadly the number of venues with live music have decreased since I first arrived 18 years ago and now it's all DJ's.

Down stairs at the Bleu Lizard or down stairs at the Standard. You'll have to check the programme to see when it's live music & when it's a DJ.
At the tourist office you can find lots of brochures & calendars about what is going on around the city. Sometimes find these brochures around various bars.
Oh, check the Docks as well.

The Blue Lezard has some good bands on sometimes, Wednesdays is the main evening I think but there may be more. It's free too...

Otherwise there is Les Docks in the Flon area, which has a large number of concerts from rock, blues...all sorts really. The listing can be found here:

I've been to a few gigs there, and it's a nice new place, with a good atmosphere. A couple of things I might go to in October actually...thanks for reminding me!!

Tacos is also in the flon area. That has pool tables and often live music but it is mainly rock n roll, rock-a-billy and some blues by the look. Not been there for the music to be honest. Website and listing here:

For a younger crowd and pretty much only rock/metal there Le Romandie near the cathedral area. Pretty specific taste this one but it is very cheap as it is some sort of local collective place.
