If you'd like to meet friends over a nice cup of tea or coffee, where would you go on a Saturday morning, considering it's November, cold and rainy, so you'd like maximum cosiness, daylight and preferably a Rhein view?

Google shows that there is nothing except Starbucks. Please prove it wrong

Not been, but heard good things about it.

Spillmann, just on the Mittlererbrucke has a good reputation too.

Cafe Schliesser (or something like that) in Marktplatz. It is next to McD's but don't let that put you off. You go upstairs, no Rhein view but great view of the town hall and Marktplatz. Waitresses in little black dresses and white pinnies prepare delicious coffees and scrumptious hot chocolate .. even gluhwein now. Not the cheapest but cheaper than Starbucks ... and strangely good for tram mad little boys .. I take my 3 year old every week while we wait for an appointment, and he gazes through the window at all the trams coming through the Marktplatz.

So good with or without little ones!

Agreed - Fumare-Non-Fumare is a great place to have coffee and people watch !
