Hi All,
This is my first NYE in Switzerland and my husband and I also got married this year.
Thanks to EF reccos, we had our wedding lunch at Le Baron Tavernier with family and friends and it was a very special and momentous day and event for us.

So we want to make this a special closing of 2011...any suggestions of what/where we could go/do in the Geneva, Lausanne, canton Vaud area?

I am open to restaurants, events, concerts...something quirky will do as well.

Any and all suggestions welcome!!

I gave the "recco" for Le Baron Tavernier and I'm also interested to hear reccos for NYE at the civilized end of the lake

I saw an advert yesterday on a TPG bus.. something about illuminations in Carouge (GE) but that was about it.

mrs. G and I did find one place
nice little hotel overlooking the water
there's a great menu... 7 course meal
followed by a champagne bar and dancing until the 'wee hours.

but it's in Brighton.

We might go there ourselves if the options aren't good enough.......we kinda like the idea of closing the year from where it all began ...let's see.....

I've had some really great times at Bleu Lezard in Lausanne, on three occasions when I was back home for Xmas. http://www.bleu-lezard.ch/

Upstairs in the resto they convert it into a disco, and the regular disco/bar downstairs plays more younger generation stuff. You can slide up and down to both areas.

Probably too late for a table in the resto for eats, but when they finish the meals the party really begins, and they open the doors for an entry fee for both up and downstairs. Party lasts until dawn....

There is a great view too to Pont Bessier and the Cathdral all lighted up.

I have been known to dance on a few tables to some great old funky tunes, so if you see someone acting way too foolish for his middle age, that'll be me, if I can get over from Oxford that weekend.
