| | | Best piece of meat ( steak ) in Zürich?
Hi English Forumers,
For the meat-eaters in Zürich, I would like to share ideas regarding the best place to have a good steak here! One of my best surprises until today was the Eisenhof near Langstrasse (super steaks on hot stones), but I am sure some of you have better ideas, w/ budget?
Thank's in advance!
Alexandre

Maybe a bit off topic but i read the other day that SWEG Südwestdeutsche Verkehrs – Aktiengesellschaft runs a bus service from Zürich to the shopping center in Weil and Lörrach and back. Tenderlion in Migros 20-odd CHuff's in marktkauf 5euros topps.
Maybe an idea for a day trip?

Got to be Rollis in Oerlikon or Kloten, but I prefer the former. I am a regular. It does a variety of steaks, not just beef, on hots stones with great chips ( UK type). It's not cheap ( but also not usual Zurich prices) but it is fair value for the quality. Suggest you book as many people are turned away who turn up on spec.

True, expensive but worth trying. We went once for a special occasion and had no regrets.

Went to Hawksmoor Covent Garden with a mate and shared the 900g bone-in ribeye.
Was truly amazing, and it hurts to see how expensive steaks are in the Zurich....

I wonder if Zürich has an equivalent for the TasteCard.
The trial I took up was really worth it.

Goodman comes very highly recommended from everybody I ask, will be checking it out ASAP. the prices look to be pretty much the same as any high-end steakhouse back in the States, steak is just about the only thing I never go cheap on.

I dunno; asking someone else to cook my steak for me is never a comfortable experience. I prefer to cook them myself rather than handing them over to another man to fondle and get wrong...
Ps, great meat at Hornecker's at Albisriederplatz in Zurich. They know how to hang and how to cut.

Try and look for LUMA Beef. It's an innovative Swiss product which is not too easy to come across.
Hand picked cuts of Beef are dry aged on the bone 5-7 weeks with a special Mould which matures over it under laboratory conditions. You can compare the results to how wine and cheese improves with aging. Not cheap though but good!
