| | | Zurich Clubbing Hi All,
Have recently moved to Zurich from manchester in the UK to start a new job, really enjoying the city so far but don't really know anyone here yet. Was wondering if there were any good house, techno or breaks clubs in Zurich that people can recommend? I miss going out in the UK but nightlife in Zurich is on par, looking for people who are interested in meeting up and enjoying some good house and techno clubs. |

I have friends from Singapore spending a week here in Switzerland for holidays. They want to try the club scene. I'll get in touch with you and see if can help me look for clubs.

Not exactly my scene, but 15 years ago Kaufleuten was 'the place to go' in town for that. Apparently it still is - so much for that...

For hand-holding on any night (weekends are so...hairgel) head down to Kreis 5 / the Industrie Quartier, enter a bar, ask a good looking Body where to go. It's all pretty close, but obviously different nights have different scenes. Start at Les Halles for a feed, you'll meet all sorts there. Someone will help!

streetparade ist the most boring thing ever! these parades are dead since loveparade moved from ku'damm to strasse des 17. juni which is about 12 years ago. if you want carneval, go to rio.
more interesting was "move city" line-up with jeff mills, plastikman, monika kruse, ladytron etc.
clubs: dunno. heard about supermarket. but the line ups look pretty much wannabe and kindergarten on any flyer i have read so far.

Street parade in Berlin would be good, went to the Love Parade in Leeds was very good. Would take your adivce on a carnival in Rio i but i dont think the number 3 tram goes that far. maybe for a holiday bit tricky on saturday night though.
if there anywhere you can recommend that lists the club nights on a weekly basis, or is there a weekly magazine or something. | Quote: | | | | | streetparade ist the most boring thing ever! these parades are dead since loveparade moved from ku'damm to strasse des 17. juni which is about 12 years ago. if you want carneval, go to rio.

Everything is as boring as you make it. Ive been twice and had a blast both times. Good friends, differing types of music and smiles! what more could one want!?
Weekly thing...
I know what it isnt what you are after... but at Xtra every wednesday is a Goth night! I went once and it was good. Where do all the goths come from?? I went to the Underworld in Camden once, and xtra was almost as good (im not a goth by the way).
I hear the Glasshouse in Bulach has harder house music every now and then

sorry, i dont wanna sound like a stoneage man of techno/electronic music, but i have been to the loveparade from 3rd period on when it was a completely different thing. there were party people, djays and some clubnights afterwards. it was a movement, something special...no trucks with sponsoring, viva-gogo-dance-squads, grandmas dressed like they have escaped by mistake from soul asylum,
no posing,
no show offs,
no idiots standing on the sidewalk only watching, not plugging into the stream of dancing people
no cheap crap djaying with charttunes.
the only good show was richie hawtin at streetparade this year.
streeparade is a copy of a copy of a copy from something that the spirit has long gone from, in fact is dead. and im glad that berlin noticed that and kicked the shit out of the city.

Let's make this a story...
*a sexual practice called "greenlighting," in which men and women wore... shirts with the collars turned up, and had sexual relations with whoever turned the collars down (Wikipedia)
