Day Trips for 8 months pregnant woman....

It's my birthday next month, and it will be my last birthday as a 20 something without children. I'll be 8 months pregnant by then and really want to do something.

Aside from the normal restaurant meal, which I'm not sure how much I'll be able to eat I want to get out and see something new.

We've got our Labbies so the day out has to involve them. I'm just looking for inspiration. It shouldn't require too much traveling, probably 1 and 30 mins tops.

We've done Rigi, Luzern, Chasseral and Flumserberg.

We are based in Zurich Oberland.

Any ideas?

Only if you have a car...drive to Betlis on Walensee, about 45 minute drive from Zurich. Park the car, walk 25 minutes to the Seerenbach waterfall, one of the highest waterfalls in Switzerland. Walk back to the quaint restaurant near the parking area, dip your feet in the lake. Stunning scenery. Great food, plenty of nature for dogs to run around in.

Have you been to the RHine falls? Or to Stein en Rhine? The falls are interesting and there are restaurants at the base of the. Stein en Rhine has a quaintl town centre with all the buildings painted with historical murals. A walk downstream f rom there should please the dogs.

A side note: Make sure you go to the cinema at least once before your bundle of joy arrives... I would suggest the one on the Austrian boarder in Hohenems and paste your last kino ticket into your baby book

and if you like asian buffets, my favorite buffet has been recently renovated in Feldkirch Austria... amazing!

I would suggest Lenzerheide and Heidsee (in case it is not too far for you).

It is just so beautiful there, you can swim or paddle around these tiny islands or just have a picnic near the lake. Or you can go for a walk on one of many walking pads above or around the lake. Great for walks with dogs, our girl loves it there.

Re: Day Trips for 8 months pregnant woman....

I'm jealous of all you pregnant women who can manage longer car trips and walks in your eighth month. My baby's position left me needing to pee practically every 5-10 minutes! My day involved walking loops around the neighborhood...hehe.

Enjoy your last month and this beautifully sunny weather. I hope you all have safe and healthy births. =)

I have to agree with Lenzerheide... it is about 20 min from me and it is heaven!! I'd say go for it The bakery/restaurant there (the one before the lake) has really wonderful cakes and food: http://www.cafe-aurora.ch/

If you do the Rhinefalls go to the "Schloss Laufen" side as that one has an elevator, not sure how much uphill walking you want to do by then ;-)

Close to that there is a nice restaurant in Altparadies along the Rhine

Small cute historic center, shops, restaurants, nice restaurant along the Rhine, www.gueterhof.ch where you can take the boat to Diessenhofen and Stein am Rhein, both very cute villages.
