Vietnamese Restaurant Zurich

The wife and I have been slowly checking off all the Vietnamese restaurants in Zurich and so far this one really stands out.

Easily accessible with the 10 or 11 tram to Oerlikon Haus.

Food was really good, service was good, prices were good and they even serve Vietnamese coffee...

I have gone past around lunch time a while back, doing some work in the area and it was bumper full, even a queue to get in the door.

I'm not sure that I share your opinion about that restaurant. You might as well go to Saigon http://www.saigon.ch/, at least they serve Pho there.

WOW! $23.50 for Bun Bo Hue? Insane! It's only $8 over here but i guess it is Switzerland.

Cutting vegetables is time consuming and labor intensive. Sure, in other places, you can use low cost labor for that. But in Switzerland, that person has to have a living wage, and that price includes contributions to their pension fund.

But between you and me, it is not likely to be better than what you have there.

I was in the outlet near SchmiedeWiedikon about three times and love the place

Just felt inspired to cook Spaghetti à la maison with butter, olive oil, curry, Thymian and half an onion Some KetchUp will complete it

This is the one that I tried. It is mostly a take away, but has a small sitting area inside as well. I liked the food.

+1 for Saigon Restaurant. I tried the Pho after I came back from a trip to Vietnam and was impressed. They keep to the original recipe.

Have not tried the other restaurants.

I love the Saigon. My reservation about the Oerlikon-Glattpark location place is the place. Hightech suburbia. I have may lodgings in that Glattbrugg-Oerlikon area and in a way li9ke it. But my soul is far more conservative. So that I love he Wiedikon area .... While the LA, mentioned by Taratonga may be a good idea

Thumb up for Saigon. Went there yesterday. Food was excellent and huge portions. They could have filled the wine glasses a little more though. But very nice people. Highly recommended!

+1 for Asiaway in Oerlikon

I am pho addict but just can't get into how Saigon does it. Plus their portions are small.

Asiaway's pho is good but their lobster soup is amazing.

Great vietnamese coffee too.

Another favourite is Chez Nhan at Schmiede Wiedikon. Great food and atmosphere.

This one is also my go-to place for pho. The rest of their food is good too, but I usually always go there when I have a craving for pho soup. Right across from the Binz train station.

I often was in Vietnamese restaurants in Morocco and in France. Two of them I have in particular memory. The one in Rabat was the only place where you had not to defend your glass against 20 flies, and where you did not have to defend your meal against 50 of the beasts. The other one was in St. Malo, where the chief told me how the chaps in Rabat did the trick, and who had his restaurants in a very beautiful location

Re: Vietnamese Restaurant Zurich

We just do it at home.

My wife's ex is Vietnamese, so she picked it up in 13 years of marriage.

Also helps that her ex's relatives own the best Vietnamese shop in Ticino (I've been a customer for over 20 years).

Anyway, Sunday and yesterday's dinner was Bi and Goi Cuon, with some Nước chấm my step-daughter mde.
