Hey all. One of my best friends, Ashely Phillips, from the US is coming in a few weeks. She is a fabulous soul singer/songwriter, and I have been working on organizing her gigs. I know that being lesbian is very important to her and supporting the gay community is sort of in her musical mission statement. THEREFORE, i thought it would be cool within the gigs I have already booked her, if i could find one or two that were in venues that catered to gay crowds and maybe had the place for live music. I dont know these venues very well(know the big ones in zurich) so I was just looking for a little help with identifying gay venues in different towns.....If anyone has any connections to clubs or bars that would really help me get her a gig faster I would appreciate that as well.

You could try in the Rote Fabrik. Not the bigger concert venues, try the restaurant (Ziegel oh lac) where they have concerts on Teusday nights. You wanna telephone there and ask for someone connected with "Ziistig-Music", pronunciation is tricky, Ziistig is my version of the swiss-german version of Dienstag. They are looking for good, professional performers and things like race, creed, religion or preference won´t matter.
