| Re: Things to do in Lausanne
Visit Old city, and climb the Cathedral (you pay 2 francs to go up and take a look, its really worth it, so do it!)
Chateau Chillon is just outside of Lausanne, about 30 minutes on the train (maybe less) this is well worth a walk thru too, you will not see history like this anywhere else and its just amazing there...well worth the trip.
Also climb the old lookout tower, made from wood, its got a giant internal spiral stair and is quite an amazing structure in itself. You can see ALL of Lausanne from here, really good view right up above the tree tops.
Head to St. Francois (if you are there on thursday, or saturday) there are farmers markets through the streets, and some of the local artisans will have stuff there for sale too, and there is some awesome food to try, spanish olives and all sorts of amazing curry mixes etc, really nice also!
Before going clubbing head to "Reflet de Ciel" in Malley (its just back up the hill about 2 minutes walk fromt he malley bus stop, take the number 7 bus) It just serves cocktails, have 2 cocktails there and you wont need to spend a fortune at the clubs on drinks. I recommend the bucaneer....so good.
Uhm, for going out, head to the Flon area, and go to "Mad", its about 15 franc entry but its 3 levels of different music styles. Not bad. Also there is another club at the Chauderon bus station drop off, just down thestairs on the way to Flon called "The Loft" it's also pretty good there too.
Flon is really the night club district, I think there are about 3 or 4 clubs in this area. There is another club there that has latin dance upstairs and dance music downstairs, I forget the name to this club sorry...Also La Movida which is at the bus stop just before Chauderon which I now forget! (damnit!) AH I REMEMBERED!! It's Bel Air, just next to the bus stop and the Migros.
Enjoy!!
