Vulkan is very good.

I got a takeaway from Taste of Paradise (http://tasteofparadise.ch not far from Letzigrund) a few weekends ago. Saturday evening, buffet night apparently, with the place hopping and a singer in the corner.

CHF20 for two plastic trays (you know the type), help yourself and fill 'em up! Loved it. I had enough food for Sunday and Monday evenings, too.

It was top quality, some spicy, some mild, all tasty and the tandoori chicken legs were perfectly cooked. Beef, fish and chicken, vegetables, parata, the works. Highly recommended.

Khan's in Zurich Neiderdorf

I ate at Swaad on Saturday night. There were only two other diners in there.
So I ordered Chicken Tikka and my girlfriend had the 38.50chf buffet.
Hers was great tasty and among the many things on offer she had white chicken meat in one of the buffet dishes. Mine however was dark meat and it tasted very dried out even in the sauce. Yuck. Most pieces tasted edible but some were too tough to enjoy. I think Gordon Ramsay would've had a field day if he'd visited their fridge.
Outside we noticed a delivery van from a Winterthur Indian restaurant called Tandoor. So I guess that my meal was cooked in house and the buffet is outsourced. Fair play to the manager, he did say that even though I ordered off the menu I could help myself to whatever I liked on the buffet. Wine was quite expensive. So stick with the buffet if I were you.

I have been to a lot of the Indian's in Zurich and Spice Gourmet (near Banhof Enge) is by far the best.

There is also a very small Indian restaurant on Hufgasse just off Seestrasse, Seefeld, across from Tibits, I can not remember the name of it. It is also very good.

I LOVE Masala, at Stauffacherplatz

My favorite there is the butter chicken... it was the most buttery, delicious chicken I ever had.

Hi, There is a good one near Limmatplatz. The name of the restaurant is Mundial. The good thing abt this is, weekly 2 days (Sunday, Tuesdays) you have Indian buffet and the taste is worth the money. Also it not very expensive. http://www.mundial-restaurant.ch/

I've been there and had a great meal. The best thing about it is that the food tasted home made, just like my mother would make it. The aubergine masala was really very very good. I had a good chat with the chef, Mr. Dhillon, who is from Punjab himself and he was a jolly chap.

I didn't go during a buffet evening, I ordered the special thali with meat off the menu and it was excellent. But I have heard that the buffet (25 chf) is well worth it. Also, Florence was an excellent server, and cute too

Had the daily lunchtime menu yesterday at Massala.

Nice chilled mango soup to start, followed by a pile of rice and a very tasty King Prawn curry which they served spicier at my request.

Very polite efficient service even though I walked in at 13.45, and it was very tasty and a good feed.

3 times there, 3 times happy.

Indian Palace in Milchbuch is popular among Indian colleagues. And it s one of my favorite spots in Zurich as well. Especially in summer garden is great

I had a fantastic takeaway from Sher-E-Punjab yesterday. It's a small place 50 metres away from the Lochergut tram stop, trams 2 or 3.

I orderd a mutton curry and chapatis. To be honest, it was the BEST mutton curry I've had in all my time in Züri. (20 chf for a curry, chapati and a beer).

The place is run by a lovely Sikh gentleman and his wife. It's a small takeaway place with a couple of tables and it also sells Indian snacks, pickles and Bollywood movies.

I speak Punjabi so had a nice discussion with Mr. Singh. It felt like I was in North India. And the food was excellent, truly authentic. I've finally found a real curry.

When I ordered, the wife asked me how spicy I wanted it!!! Heart warming . I assure you that the mutton curry is the real deal. Next time I'll try the chicken.

I wanna recommend one excellent Indian restaurant, but it's not in downtown Zurich. It's in Horgen, which called Chalet India.

Take S24 from Zurich to Horgen Oberdorf (26 mins), the restaurant is across the train station. They also have their own parking place.
The stuffs are friendly, the food is excellent. There is one room with view of lake Zurich.
The only problem is sometimes they are so busy that you have to wait really long. But it's worth waiting.

my Punjabi is rather basic and rusty, but I'd love to go try the mutton curry next time you go there... Ive been there once before and the old Sikh gentleman was certainly very pleasant.

That is the best kept secret in Zurich as far as north Indian food goes.

I could also recommend Chalet India - very nice place and delicious food!
