MORE fish and chips!

Baden, Basel, Zürich, they're all after a fish and chips. It's Friday night, post election night, it's raining, long day at work...where can I find a fish and chips in Geneva?...I have a huge craving for a take away!

Only place I know is Jims in St Genis but it is closed this evening.

"Fish and chips are available Thursdays and Fridays from 12noon to 2pm, and Saturday until 2.30pm. It is recommended to book in advance, especially on Saturdays."

I think they are crap at takeaways in Switzerland. Costs almost as much as eating in a restaurant.

I agree with you. I miss the cheap and cheerful takeaway Friday nights!

Bit late for tonight, but Picards (the big freezer shop opposite the shopping centre at Thoiry) does a pretty good pack of battered cod; 2 dos cabillaud 'façon fish and chips', their frites allumette à four (oven french fries) aren't too bad either!
€4.50 for two admittedly smallish pieces of fish and €1.40 for a kilo bag of chips... much cheaper than Jims and ready within half-an-hour.

I think the days of fish'n'chips being a cheap takeaway, on any day of the week, are long gone.


However, I did cook for lunch some f&c .... but not the same as from a chippy.
