I am trying to bring over one of Hawaii's best performers, Paula Fuga, to perform at several venues in CH. Paula sings mostly reggae and Hawaiian music and has toured extensively with Jack Johnson here in the US. (www.paulafugamusic.com). When she sings you'll see a lot of tears in the room!

I want to bring her over to perform at an event we're hosting in Basel in March 2009, and we are looking to have her perform at the Grand Casino Basel for this. But my question is about other venues she might "fit" into.
(also if anyone might comment on the Grand Casino venue - this would be helpful..it looks pretty posh and nice based on the website and the performers..)

I have heard of a 'river boat' in Basel that also hosts live music - does anyone here know of this place?

Can the forum suggest other venues in zurich (I have no capital "z", please excuse me!), Geneva, Montreaux, or other places that would be good for reggae/world music? Even in Strasbourg/Colmar/Germany would be good too.

In 2006 I hosted a party at Club 59 in Basel (down on Steinenvorstadt) and that was about a 6/10 because of the layout. (The owner Marco was really cool about helping me though and the party was a success...). This is where I met my downfall = the caipirhina! Man...I LOVE these things and believe me it's hard to find cachaca here in Kauai!

So yes, please connect me with William...because even if we do the Casino, I might want her to do a more low key show in Basel. The river boat might be better all around..

And yes, look her up on iTunes...she is an amazing talent. And a heart of gold.
