this outfit http://www.minimetal.com/ are Zurich based and releasing a 1994 to 2007 album this week along with a performance. I met them the other night and they are cool guys. You can get a taste of their music online, but you need to register.

the real punk alternative thing/area is set at üetlibergstrasse 119.
i think its a squat, deserted industrial building. its bombed with graffiti
and some metal art stuff is hung up there. a small stage is in the yard where they play life music like "jerry lewis and the jitters". i saw them last friday. its a wild and left wing/alternative centre (kind of) but a bit hard to find. i was wondering that in a city like zurich this is possible to run...felt like back in the 90ies, when in east germany and berlin all these illegal squats were popping up...check it out.

yep, you should. i was "invited", heard it through the grapevine and i dont think youll find it on any schedule (concert x&y this date etc). if i meet my mates again, maybe i can ask if this place has a name. if ones looking for a "flat"-> plenty of lofts there. you can have a campfire inside made of old tyres...lovely!

and weekends there's usually stuff going on.

Does anyone know if this Squat is still going?
I ocasionally hear about these Zurich alternative/Undergroud parties taking place in this area but I usually don't hear about them until after the event has happened.
