A group of us Lausanne/Geneva-ites will be taking over Basel this weekend. Ok ok, we are coming up for a bit of fun for the weekend. Problem is, we have no idea where to have the night fun.

Any suggestions for a fun pub or disco we can go to and have some great fun, hopefully even shake our groove thing? We are more into places that play music with lyrics, versus the music where you just dance in a trance to. All suggestions are welcome though! And if your looking for something to do, feel free to pm me to join us.

Never been, but Bar Rouge looks very nice.

This one is in the French region of Yverdon les bains and is a seperate project called BarRouge plage (plage is beach in French I think), the Bar Rouge you are looking for is the highest building in Basel at Messeplatz.

Any of the bars on (or just off) Steinenvostadt would be a good starting point (much choice and near station, but a bit away from the Autumn fair that starts on Saturday). would recommend "Küchlin" "All bar one" or even Piwi as good starting points as they are large and normally have space at some point . Bar Rouge also a good starter, but the other side of town.

Bar Rouge is nice for the views but if you are looking for fun i think its a bit pretentious (and not for good reason). Of course thats just my opinion. Also there is a 15CHF cover charge if you are under 35. The view is amazing though. I would suggest you start there if you want to try it and then head to the other side of town.

The main street of bars mentoned above is good fun and you can pop from bar to bar for a while until you hit Paddy's and Red Rocks. I believe those are open the latest in basel, until 5 or 6am.

What kind of scene are you looking for? Their are also a number of but those are located on the other side of town from the above mentioned places. Hope you have fun in Basel!
