... so there we were in Basel, fresh out of a concert at 10:30pm on a Saturday night. We thought - woohoo, let's go grab a pizza and have a bottle of wine or something. Now we don't really know our way around Basel, and so we just wandered around the area near the Hbf. But we couldn't find any restaurants that were still open or cafes that were still serving. We ended up going to Burger King...

This got us thinking about the situation in Zurich, as we know it a bit better. What places in Zurich would still be serving decent food after 10:30pm? I know there's "Scottish", or dodgy sausage/kebab places, but apart from that? Possibly Johannitter on the Niederdorf, or maybe Santa Lucia? Are there any places where the kitchen closes at midnight?

Commercio opens 'til 2:00 every night. Reasonable food, ok crowd.

Tibits off of Steinevorstadt is open until midnight. Non-smoking, yummy food, wine, etc. They're also in Zurich.

yes, in Seefeldstrasse, a couple of blocks away from the Opernhaus. Also Globus at Bellevue has a deli and a sushi bar open until relatively late.

Can't remember the name, but the big traditional Swiss place next to Grabli bar does an excellent Cordon Bleu mit pommes at 3am - I've only experienced this at weekends, so don't go there on a Tuesday without checking first

Oh and New Point up by Sihlpost is open til 2am every day if you're REALLY struggling.
