I think the Helsinki Bar in Zürich is now doing regular jazz on Tuesday nights.

I've never been at Helsinki on Tuesday – have you been and if yes, how did you like the Jazzbones?

To be honest I'm not a big jazz fan and just went a couple of times to meet a friend who hangs out in that scene. So, i can't tell you the name of the band that was playing. last time was back in january. they were great players though, no question. And the Helsinki's got a good atmosphere for that kind of music. It was nice.

Bit of a short notice but the Sargans Jazz festival is on this weekend (Sargans is less than an hour from ZH on the train). Program here

Unfortunately I'll be at the Highland Games otherwise I would have arranged a meet up.

PS there is a nice but small jazz club in Sargans that does a winter program on Friday nights, line up http://www.jazz-sargans.ch/tl_jazz/index.php/keller_programm.html"]here[/URL] and we will be getting to some of those, especially Don P & The Blue Jags, they do some decent Stevie Ray Vaughan numbers

I'm quite disappointed I haven't come across a jazz or blues bar near Lugano, as they have the Blues to Bop festival, and Estival Jazz every year. If anyone knows about a group of people that like to get together and jam the blues, or any venues/bars that have live music near Lugano I'd appreciate the tip!
