Can anyone recommend a very good restaurant in Bern (any cuisine, any price)?

One of my favourite restaurants is Moléson - they do a nice mix of Swiss and French cuisine, and the best steak and pommes frites in town.

We recently visited Bern and had a very good dinner at the Kornhauskeller. The Metzgerstuebli is on the list of restaurants that we want to try in the near future because it keeps getting rave reviews from friends and colleagues.

Before going to a restaurant, I always check it out at Tripadvisor.com. The reviews tend to be fairly accurate, plus it's a great way to discover new restaurants.

Kornhauskeller!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Breathtaking entrance (once inside the door and down the stairs that is!)
Brilliant food, pricey for Bern but still cheaper than the same options in ZH. Definately value for money though, as I've been there 4 times over the last 6 years and honestly remember each visit in detail. Service was always spot on, meaning they are never in your face or pushy but literally appear at your shoulder whenever you want them!! The anti-pasti buffet is "to die for" (Can't believe I used that expression - anyone who knows me, please delete from memory!) Wine cellar is huge, and they also have a cigar and whisky section on one of the balconies.
