Re: English Movies

Yes. The major chain is Pathé. Below is their website that gives the movie details by each of the cinemas.

http://pathe.ch/

Click on either Geneva or Lausanne. From there, click on the "by film" button in the "Horaires rapides" box on the right. It gives you the details of each film and whether the showing is in English or not.

To see an American film in English, look for the VO (original version) beside the time(s) that it is showing. Often they will have one or two sessions in VO and the same in French.

The cinemas in the Swiss French area also show the movies dubbed in French. Since the American movies are dubbed for the French market, the Swiss-French area takes them as well. However we also get the movies you will see in Zurich: being the VO with subtitles in German and French.

So if you want to see an American movie in Lausanne or Geneva, you need to check the schedule/cinema to see if they are playing the VO or the French version. A bit more work but if the movie is popular, there will be both offered.

Check out www.cineman.ch. It will tell you where, what, when, and in what language it will play.

Re: English Movies

Yeah. Pathe does. Usually when movies premiere the first week they show at Flon and after that in Galleries. (Galleries is a horrible cinema, cramped, warm and small). If you want to see movies, try to catch them while they are still showing at Flon.

Re: English Movies

Here are websites with all Geneva and Lausanne listings, not just for Pathé cinemas: http://geneve.cine.ch/home.php, http://lausanne.cine.ch/home.php

Just look at those that have a VO sign (version originale) as opposed to VF (version francaise).
