How do I buy football tickets?

My partner is a devoted supporter of his English premiership club. How can I buy him a ticket to the Swiss equivalent league? We live in Vaud near Nyon. It's his birthday on Friday so any quick advice greatfully received!

I think you can buy tickets online for Young Boys. http://www.bscyb.ch/content.aspx?navi=10

A closer team would be Lausanne. You could contact them here

My German is not excellent but it looks like you may also be able to pay at the turnstile for Bern. I'm sure someone will be help you out. Which team did he want to see? Remember the Swiss League is no equivalent for the EPL (and I'm a Sunderland fan )

Re: How do I buy football tickets?

Thanks for the reply. Yip I know the standard isn't the same however he just loves football so I don't think he cares which team he sees. Not so sure about buying him a ticket for a juniors game however... Is Lausanne in the Swiss League? We've only been here 3 months so I know nothing about this!

Re: How do I buy football tickets?

I always thought Lausanne were in the top league. It now appears they are in the Swiss second division. Why the groan tesso. I hope that it's not because I'm a Sunderland fan. Lol.

Re: How do I buy football tickets?

Here it's pretty simple to buy tickets. You can almost always buy tickets outside the stadium or online.

The nearest top league club I think is Neuchatel Xamax. They also have a fancy new stadium.

The best atmospare would be in Basel or Berne. All tickets you'll be able to get online as well. in Xamax's case over www.ticketportal.ch

The problem is you've asked this question about 2 weeks too late. The games last weekend were the last before the winter break which goes until Febuary I believe.

If you are spontanious and are willing to travel. Basel play Fulham on Wednesday in the Uefa cup. I saw on their website they also play a friendly against Bayern Munich on the 12.1.10

Otherwise you'll have to wait till Feb.

Swiss League is on a winter break and is also....pants.

How about travelling further away to see some proper football? Milan is not so far away, 3-4 hours by direct train. Go and see the legendary Beckham as he rejoins AC Milan on loan again.

True on both accounts

Good thinking though mark. Even though i do take offense to you calling Beckham a legend

Lyon is also roughly 1 1/2 hours away

Re: How do I buy football tickets?

Thanks for all the replies. I'm getting the message loud and clear that he's born at the wrong time of year to go to a Swiss football game for his birthday! I'll show him all your comments as he'll now doubt want to go to a game next year. He's an Evertonian by the way, do I get groaned at for that?

Re: How do I buy football tickets?

Since you live in Nyon..why not go and see Lyon (only about 90mins away). They are in a proper league and not on a winter break. You can buy tickets online directly if you register

I think tesso's bio gives the reason away....seems meant in good humour (or not as you're a Mackem!)

www.ticketportal.ch sells the tickets online or you can get them at some stations.

Or https://ticketing.fcb.ch/

For Basel some games (eg FCZ) might be difficult either because of demand or fan problems.

Re: How do I buy football tickets?

Hello,

Does anyone have any good suggestions about how I might buy Man Utd home tickets? I have only seen really expensive VIP tickets online and was told I need to find someone with a season ticket. I am hoping to fly from Basel just for the weekend but if anyone has had any previous experience or thoughts it would be highly appreciated

If you plan to do it on a regular basis then I suggest you become a member of the official Swiss Man U supporters club. You will be able to get tickets through them.

A friend of mine who is a member of the Slovenian Man U supporters club told me that they have a worldwide ticket exchange where season ticket holders "lend" their tickets to other Man U supporters when they're unable to attend matches.

Good luck!
