Re: Sushi in Lucerne/Luzern

Hi there,

You get all the ingrediants at Globus Lucerne, downstairs, however bring a fat wallet with you.

Also you get all the good an fresh fish at Solo Markt (Manor). Again, it's not cheap, and fish seems to be a good investment. Prices are rising rapidly...

Cheers!

Christian

Hi,
I found a Sushi making kit box (Blue Dragon brand) with sushi rice, bamboo mat, ginger, wasabi, nori sheets the works except for the fish in Coop. Quite easy to follow. And i thought I saw something similar in Migros as well. They are all in the Asian section.

Good luck!

snooooshiiiiii in Luzern

Hoi Dragontree,

Ta muchly for the advice about the DIY sushi - I actually bought this same brand at Coop, and surprisingly it worked out really well I gave some of my sushi to some friends that hadn't tried it before and they enjoyed...i think...well i didnt see any of it on the floor I also bought some fresh salmon and tuna for sashimi - was sooooooooooooooo good!

hey Christian, thanks for the info about snooshi ingredients - will def head out to buy some, and def take my wallet (although it's not possible to leave home without it in switz ).

think i'm pretty sorted in the sushi department, now on to the next thing...finding some friends nearby to eat it with

Re: Sushi in Lucerne/Luzern

Hi,
Moevenpick on Pilatusstrasse do quite a large sushi menu - havenīt tried it but have eaten other stuff from there and it was quite good. It looked good from what I could see from other peopleīs plates (so nosy). I think there is also a place in Kriens but I canīt remember the name. Sorry! Maybe a web search for it??
Hope that helps

Re: Sushi in Lucerne/Luzern

Bear, (aside: funny to see so many cat avatars in a sushi thread), I've tried Kaiten in Luzern. It's good and the ambience is lovely, but the sashimi is cut slightly untidy (if you're not fussy, it's OK). They have an all-u-can-eat on certain days. They also do deliveries (within Luzern mostly): www.kaiten.ch

Re: Sushi in Lucerne/Luzern

They do all-u-can-eat on every first monday of the month at Kaiten. CHF 55 i believe which is a very good price indeed!
I think they are the best here in town, even though coming from vancouver i m a bit spoiled with sushi and haven't found a place in ch yet that can even compare to van-city...if anyone has got suggestions, bring them on!

Re: Sushi in Lucerne/Luzern

Kaiten appears to be closed today (judging from the Swiss-German message left when I called them but not really sure). Does anyone know of another good place for sushi or Vietnamese food in Lucerne that's open on a Monday night?
