| | | Re: Sunday Brunch in Zurich | Quote: | | | | | i went to Bohemia on Sunday. Opted for a full english and was quite dissapointed. The sausages were not pork, beans were harricot mixed with a homemade tomato sauce. Bacon was just weird and the toast was very dry. | | | | | Just came back from brunch at Bohemia - and unfortunately have to fully agree. The baked beans were awful! Loved the juices, but if you're looking for a nice English breakfast, this ain't it.
Atmosphere was nice though, and the service was pretty good too.

About three weeks ago I tried the Gloria Cafe in Josefstr. It was great, with a big variety.
Thumbs up for Tea Room as well.
Anybody knows where I can drink my tea the english way, especially with scones??? |

Oh, there you go:
I found this about the Carlton's Tea-time. But only from September till May and -of course- only from 14.30 to 17.00.

Could anyone recommend a restaurant for Easter Brunch this weekend? I know it's a bit late, but any ideas would be much appreciated!

Hi there Shiny new member ...
there have been a few links on this thread - I would check them all out and would expect to see easter opening times on their websites.
I know Hiltl's and Bohemia were open around christmas time ... so I'm guessing easter too ... but you'll have to check for easter sunday.
Have fun!

| | | "Brunch" in Zürich
Hola!
I´m new in this forum so first of all I want to greet you all. I´m spending a few hours in Zürich, in my way to Innsbruck, so I had thought of having breakfast there (or lunch or whatever), that´s why I want to ask you for a nice , cheap place to eat and if possible close to the Hauptbahnhof ^^.
Thank u very much!

Almost all restaurants have a daily special at lunch (called a "menu" and usually listed on a separate sheet inserted into the regular menu - "Speisekarte"). They tend to range from 15 to 25 francs, depending on the restaurant.
Cheap places are on the other side of the Limmat river in the Niederdorf, such as Zum Wiessen Schwan (Predigerplatz 34) or the nearby Cafe Zähringerplatz 11). Go to http://map.search.ch/ and enter those addresses.
En Guete!

The new Cafe Felix at Bellevue does excellent brunches, ranging from the usual gipfeli and butter type thing to a 75 chf spectacular with smoked salmon, champagne and caviar.
It's a wonderful cafe, too, all roses, statues, red carpets and golden framed mirrors.
You might want to wait a while, though, since they're currently having to handle 2500 guests a day, and queues are forming outside the door (according to 20 Mins, anyway).
But it's worth the wait... and the little chocolates are delicious! http://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/zuerich/....html?id=18169 |

I know I've recommended this restaurant for its view, but I had brunch at Luegeten in Pfaffikon (SZ) today...can definitely recommend it.
After a hearty meal of eggs and bacon accompanied by a selection of breads, cold meats, cheeses, juice, fruits and excellent coffee, I asked for the bill. The waittress, obviously shocked at my request, said "but there's a roast and the dessert buffet still to come..."
The concept of brunch being breakfast + lunch is taken very literally there....the 1st buffet at 10.30 is the breakfast buffet, by 12.30 they started serving the roast and the dessert buffet made its appearance at 13.00...
Cost is CHF 39.50 per person which we felt was excellent value.
Barbra.

I have to recommend Hiltl www.hiltl.ch
I had brunch there on Sunday for my birthday and can not complain about anything.
I believe you need to book, but it is well worth it.
You can pay CHF 48 for all you can eat breakfast and lunch foods (so a real brunch) or just per wt.
Some people may say the fact this place is vegetarian is a downside, but it just didnt seem to matter with the variety and quality of the foods. I cant stop raving about this place!

Hi
Its my boyfriends 30th tomorrow and we wanted to spontaneously go out for brunch tomorrow morning. Anyone got any other recent suggestions for brunch to add to this list?

Try using the search function with the keyword "brunch" and you might find something recent.
