Kalkbreite, the alternative squat venue in Zürich, is closing after this weekend. It hosted everything from metal, to hardcore to avant garde electronica. It's being redeveloped into flats. I've had some good nights there . . . some I participated, some I was more of a tourist. What a shame it's closing . . .

It for ages was a bit shabby old-fashioned restaurant, quite representative of its area up into the 1970ies but then collapsed. The music-place in fact was a provisorium along the line "c'est le provisoire qui dûre" .
