Re: nice cafes in lausanne

Hi,

Well, we have quite a lot of cafés in Lausanne!

When I want to work a bit/read my book, I usually enjoy:
- Starbucks (St. François or St. Laurent)
- Manuel (in Bel Air)
- Meier (Rue Centrale, next to Krieg)

Hope this helps!

You might struggle to find quiet cafés but one I like is Tribeca, just off rue Madeleine, behind Place Riponne. It has WiFi and I've seen people working in there.

Café de Grancy near the railway station is also a good place, with free Wifi so you can work from there and as long as you don't do it during meal hours nobody would bother you.

Yes this one is absolutely the best.
You can have a lovely brunch, get comfy on the couches with your laptop and spend a lovely afternoon when it's raining outside. They have all kinds of books laying around, and it's just a cool, but cozy place. Love it

Re: nice cafes in lausanne

Would like to second this recommendation from a few months ago... had a coffee there this week. Quiet, spacious, friendly, cozy, a few English & French mags to read. Will return to sample the beers.

Nomadic,

Tres bien. Love this place as its just off the beaten track from the centre hubba bubba. Ahmed and Phyllis are super owners too.

And you will be spoilt for choice on the trappist brews.

Re: nice cafes in lausanne

bumping up the thread...

any of the mentioned cafes have plugs? i need a place to work this weekend, cosy, comfy, with wifi and plugs and preferably decaf coffee. starbucks will be OK on sunday but I hate going there on saturdays it's too crowded and noisy.
